Donald Del Ray Brown

Donald Del Ray Brown, 75, of Acme passed away peacefully Monday, September 26, 2022 at his home, while surrounded by his loving family. He was born January 5, 1947 in Connellsville a son of the late Donald H. and Unice Gudmanson Brown. Del Ray was a graduate of Fullerton High School in Fullerton CA. He had worked as a Heavy Equipment Operator for Union Local #66 in Pittsburgh. He was a Veteran of the U.S. Army having served during the Vietnam War and was a member of the Donegal VFW and a Life Member of the National Rifle Association (NRA). Del Ray was a member of the Calvary United Methodist Church in Acme. He like collecting Antique Cars and enjoyed the outdoors and hunting. Del Ray will be sadly missed but fondly remembered by his loving family, his wife of 53 years Sharon E. Chearney Brown, his sons Trent Brown and wife Amanda of Champion, Chad Brown and wife Tricia of Acme, and Craig Brown and girlfriend Emily Gavel of Indian Head, his grandchildren Janelle Hutchinson and husband Matt of Acme, Alex Brown and wife Kensi of Normalville, Nicholas Brown of Acme, Aiden Brown, Adalyn Brown, Austin Brown, and Aubree Brown, all of Champion, and Hannah Brown and boyfriend Joe Shrum of Acme, his great granddaughters Alyna and Arabella Hutchinson, his siblings Denise Brown and husband Dennis of Acme, Ralph Brown and wife Jeannine of Stahlstown, Wava Durstine of Acme, and Kelly Brown and wife Susan of Acme, several nieces and nephews, and his faithful pet dog Willow. In addition to his parents Del Ray was predeceased by his brother-in-law William Durstine. Family and friends will be received Thursday from 2:00-8:00 PM and Friday from 12:00 Noon to 1:00 PM, the hour of a Funeral Service, in the Mark C. Brooks Funeral Home Inc., at the corner of route 711 and 146 Municipal Building Rd., Melcroft (724-455-2310) with Pastor Jeri A. Penrod officiating. A committal service and interment will follow in the Brown Cemetery, Acme. Military rites will be accorded at the cemetery by the Donegal VFW and American Legion Honor Guard. In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations be made to the Calvary U.M. Church, 328 Calvary Church Rd, Acme PA. 15610, in memory of Donald Del Ray Brown.
