Edwin Guie "Bruzz" Hall Jr.

Edwin Guie "Bruzz" Hall, Jr., 81, of Mill Run, Pennsylvania, was born August 30, 1941 and passed away peacefully, surrounded by family on August 29th 2023. The son of the late Edwin Guie, Sr. and Thelma Faye Brooks Hall. A beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend. Edwin, or Buzz as friends knew him, took pride in the work he did on CSX Railroad. Following in his father's footsteps as a railroader, he worked with CSX for 30 years and would spend many days of his retirement reminiscing about the machinery he used, the antics he got into, and the friends and great people he had met along the way. He had a deep love for music especially Bluegrass. Banjo, guitar, violin, mandolin, he learned it all by ear, just like his father did before him. He loved "picking and grinning" especially when his grandkids joined in with him. Bruzz always held his parents and grandparents in the highest regard. He made sure to keep their memory and legacy alive by telling countless stories, memories, and jokes passed down through the years, always speaking of them with pure pride and joy. His father was his idol, his mother a saint, and his grandmother was the best cook in the world. In fact after being diagnosed with celiac disease he often drooled over the thought of having one of her"greaser cakes" just one more time. He didn't always have the best of everything, but what he did have was the absolute best to him and he beamed with humble pride about all of it. Any of his cars, tractors, and machinery, no matter the year or mileage, were always keep in pristine condition and he knew them inside and out. Everyone always knew "Pap" could fix anything or at least "boss the job" and tell you how to fix it. He always strived to work hard and to be the best he could be at everything he did. After starting out living in a chicken coop, he worked hard for a warm home and a roof over his head that was made possible by his own blood, sweat, tears, and love. Under that roof he would go onto raise a family of 4 children alongside his wife Anna Mae Hall (Cole), and then continued to watch his children's children make memories in those same walls as well. He made sure his children had the best life he could offer them, and that they and their children would go on to hold their heads high in their name, just as he did. In addition to his parents, Edwin was predeceased by his siblings James Milton Hall, John Edgar Hall, Mary Lou Cooke, and Eugene Hall. He will be sadly missed but fondly remembered by his wife of 61 years Anna Mae Hall (Cole); his children Valerie Ridgway and her husband Mark, Shelly Bailey, Lori Crowe and her husband Larry, and Edwin Hall, III; his 11 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren; his siblings Marlene Williams, Elizabeth Matrunics and her husband Paul, and Mark Hall; countless friends and of course his loyal companion Simon, his Jack Russell Terrier. Private viewing will be held in the Mark C. Brooks Funeral Home Inc, 146 Municipal Building Rd., Melcroft (724-455-2310). Pastor Brian Swan will officiate.
