Elaine Joan Ralston

Elaine Joan "Anie" Ralston, 83 of Mill Run, passed away unexpectedly Wednesday May 22, 2024 at her home. She was born January 3, 1941 in Crucible, PA., a daughter of the late Robert and Frances Evans Huntley. Elaine will be sadly missed but fondly remembered by her family, her siblings Becky Henry of Ohio, Ginger Wilkie of North Carolina, Bob Huntley and wife Louise of Florida, Harriet Montgomery and husband Allen of Florida, and David Huntley and wife Peggy of New Freeport, PA., her niece, with whom she resided Dawn Miller and husband John of Mill Run, and several other loving nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents Elaine was predeceased by her siblings Roberta Cox, Donald Huntley, and Kay Petron. Elaine grew up a coal miner's daughter, born the sixth of nine children. She enjoyed crocheting, assembling puzzles, and coloring those lovely coloring books for adults. She was a super fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers. She honored our military by flying the American flag and giving generously to programs that benefited veterans. However, her greatest love was for her family--especially the babies. She loved cuddling infants and when they were a little older she would sit in the rocking chair and read to them. In spite of many sorrows that came her way, Elaine kept a cheerful spirit. She is well remembered for her joyful laughter. She knew that her Lord would provide for her every need. She has entered the Gates of Heaven and is resting now in the place Jesus has prepared for her. Family and friends will be received Monday from 2-4 and 6-8 PM in the Mark C. Brooks Funeral Home Inc., at the corner of Route 711 and 146 Municipal Building Rd., Melcroft (724-455-2310) where a Funeral Service will be held Tuesday at 10:00 AM with Pastor John Knoll officiating. A graveside Committal Service will then be held at 2:00 PM in the Greene County Memorial Park, 1003 Jefferson Rd., Waynesburg, PA 15370. Anyone wishing to attend please go directly to the cemetery by 2:00 PM. Interment will follow there. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to one's favorite Veteran's organization.
