Fred D. Brown

Fred D. Brown, 86, of Acme, passed away peacefully Fri. Dec. 11, 2020 at his home while surrounded by his loving family. He was born Aug. 5, 1934 in Acme a son of the late Ben I. and Frances Snyder Brown. Fred worked in the lumber and farming industries and was a mechanic and truck driver prior to being the owner of Brown's Country Store in White for 37 years. Fred loved to help others and volunteered with many community organizations including: 4-H, Saltlick Township Ambulance Service, Indian Creek Valley Water Authority Board, Ridge Community Center member, Forest Fire Fighter, and Bullskin Township Community Fair Board. He was also one of the founding organizers of the Saltlick Township Volunteer Fire Department, for which he was a volunteer for 61 years. Fred was also a member of the Buchanan Church of God in White. Fred was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, and brother. He will be sadly missed but fondly remembered by his loving wife of 65 years Doretta (Mowry) Brown, his children Pamela Hare (William Sr.), Gregory Brown (Teresa), LouAnn Fabian (James), Lisa Donaldson(Kenneth II), his grandchildren Ashley (Hare) McLaughlin, William Hare, Jr.(Jaime), Chad McLaughlin, Amanda Fabian (Nolan), Samantha Fabian, Olivia Brown, Kenneth Donaldson III, and Benjamin Donaldson, his great grandchildren Hunter, Colby, and Brock McLaughlin, and Blaine Roccia, his brothers Dennis (Denise) Brown, Delmas Brown, his sisters Velma (Alfred) Crowe, Marie (Grover) Binkey, Diane (David) Addis, and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents Fred was predeceased by sister Darlie Brown, his brother Wayne Brown, and an infant son Barry Fred Brown. As per Fred's wishes there will be no viewing. Family and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Celebration of Fred's Life to be held Sat. Dec. 19, 2020 at 2:00 PM in the Buchanan Church of God, 836 Buchanan Rd., White, PA. 15490, with Rev. Tim Beatty officiating. In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations be made to the Saltlick Twp. Volunteer Fire Department, 2009 Indian Head Rd., P.O.
