Grace A. Hoover

Grace A. Hoover, 91, a longtime resident of Indian Head, passed away peacefully Friday August 18, 2023 at her home while surrounded and comforted by her loving family. She was born December 2, 1931 in Melcroft, a daughter of the late Lester "Huck" and Catherine Blucas Nedrow. Grace was a graduate of Connellsville High School. She worked as a Paraeducator for the Connellsville Area School District in the Saltlick Township and Springfield Township Schools. She was a member of the Indian Head Church of God. Grace enjoyed gardening, fishing, and most of all loved being a wonderful mother and homemaker to her family. Grace will be sadly missed but fondly remembered by her loving children, Jeffrey Hoover of Indian Head, John Hoover and wife Sarina of Indian Head, Jerry Hoover and wife Tina of Indian Head, Jody Lagola and husband Gary of Somerset, Joyce Zelenske and husband Steve of Somerset, and Jay Hoover and wife Stacey of Mill Run, her wonderful grandchildren Jessica Davis and husband Andrew, Jordan Hoover and wife Alyson, Jocelyn Hoover, Nicholas Lagola and wife Nora, Neil Lagola, Joel Zelenske, Derek Hoover, Kara Hoover, and Kylee Kooser and husband Joe, her great grandchild Kolson Kooser, her siblings John Nedrow of Scottdale and Helen Sparks of Indian Head, her brother-in-law Paul Wolk of Acme, and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents Grace was predeceased by her husband Forrest D. "Dingle" Hoover on May 11, 2019, her sisters Genevieve Barbara "Jenny" White and husband H. Dean White, Catherine Estelle Wolk, and Mary C. Griger and husband Robert Griger, her sister-in-law Marilyn Nedrow, and her brother-in-law William Sparks. Family and friends will be received from 2-8 PM Tuesday in the Mark C. Brooks Funeral Home Inc., at the corner of Route 711 and 146 Municipal Building Rd., Melcroft (724-455-2310) where a Funeral Service will be held Wednesday at 11:00 AM, with Pastor Douglas Nolt officiating. A committal service and interment will follow in the Mt. Nebo Cemetery, Champion. In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations be made to the Indian Head Church of God, 691 Indian Creek Valley Rd., P.O. Box 488, Indian Head, PA. 15446, in memory of Grace A. Hoover.
