Evelyn Jean Naugle Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Evelyn Jean Naugle, 93, of Champion, passed away May 31, 2022, in Latrobe Hospital with family members by her side. She was born September 17, 1928, in Macdonaldton, near Berlin, PA., a daughter of the late Jesse Vincent and Hazel Keefer Romesburg. Prior to her retirement, she had worked as a clerk and substitute mail carrier, and later, from 1979 to 1996 as Postmaster at the Champion Post Office. She was a Protestant by faith and a member of the Mt. Nebo Church of God. Evelyn will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by her loving family, daughter B. Jean Miller and husband Martin, son Richard (Rich) Naugle and wife Tammy both of Champion, daughter Janice Hoffer and husband Darell of Mt. Pleasant, daughter Marjorie Gesso and husband Douglas of Frankfort, KY., daughter Connie Hart and husband Robert Jr., and son Donald (Donnie) Naugle and wife Tammy both of Champion, her 18 grandchildren and 32 great grandchildren, and sisters Betty Shawley of Kecksburg, Judy Barnhart of Champion, and Janet Shawley and husband Rich of Champion, and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents Evelyn was predeceased by former husband Floyd R. Naugle, grandson Brian Hart, sisters Mabel Orendorff, Louise Stout, and Freda Bowman, and brothers Bruce, Paul, and Wayne Romesburg. The family would like to thank Lois Wozny of Excela Health Home Care and Hospice, and her associates at Latrobe Hospital for the concern, care, and comfort they provided Evelyn and the family during this difficult time. Family and friends will be received Saturday from 2:00 - 8:00 PM, in the Mark C. Brooks Funeral Home Inc., at the corner of route 711 and 146 Municipal Building Rd., Melcroft (724-455-2310), where a Funeral Service will be held Sunday at 1:00 PM, with Pastor Barry Conn officiating. A committal service and interment will follow in the Mt. Nebo Cemetery, Champion. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to the County Line Church of the Brethren, for the Operation Christmas Child Shoeboxes, P.O.
