Alfred H. "Al" Crowe

Alfred H. "Al" Crowe, 89, of Acme, passed away peacefully Sunday March 31, 2024 at his home while surrounded by his loving family. He was born March 15, 1935 in Saltlick Township a son of the late Frank and Kathryn Snyder Crowe. Prior to his retirement Alfred worked as a Welder for Beckwith Machinery Company in Murrysville. He was a very active member in the Bullskin Township Volunteer Fire Company for 60 years where he served as past President and Chief. He attended the Mt. Zion Community Church. Alfred's hobby was woodworking. He enjoyed making many different items for people all over the area. Of all the things Alfred loved to do ,what he really loved the most was being with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He will be sadly missed but fondly remembered by his loving family, his wife of 66 years Velma E. Brown Crowe,his children Kevin A. Crowe and wife Doreen of Acme, Rick A. Crowe of Acme, Nadine Leonard and husband Tim of Jackson Michigan, and Larry D. Crowe and wife Lori of Acme, his 12 grandchildren, his 25 great grandchildren, his half brothers Frank Crowe and wife Debbi of Salt Lake City, Utah, Robert Crowe and wife Barbara of Connellsville, and Kenneth Crowe and wife Gwen of New Jersey, his half sisters Joyce Ohler and husband Jim of Scottdale and Debbie Cook and husband Doug of Scottdale. In addition to his parents Alfred was predeceased by his brothers George and Wilmer Crowe, his sisters Vivian and Kathryn Crowe, his step mother Thelma Crowe, his half brother Donald Snyder and his half sisters Beverly Lindsey and Virginia Crowe. Family and friends will be received Wednesday from 6-8 PM and Thursday from 2-8 PM in the Mark C. Brooks Funeral Home Inc., at the corner of Route 711 and 146 Municipal Building Rd, Melcroft (724-455-2310) where a Funeral Service will be held Fri. at 11:00 AM with Pastor Gary Anderson officiating. A Committal Service and interment will follow in the Brown Cemetery, Acme. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to the Bullskin Township Volunteer Fire Company in memory of Alfred H. Crowe. The Bullskin Twp. Volunteer Fire Co. will conduct a service Thursday at 7:00 PM in the funeral home.
