Jeffrey Paul White

Jeffrey Paul White, 64, of Melcroft was ushered into the Presence of the Holy One while surrounded by his adoring family, after a valiant three year war with cholangiocarcinoma. Jeff arrived on October 17, 1958, in Connellsville Hospital, the firstborn son of the late Paul (Frog) and Nancy Snyder White; grandson of the late Gilbert & Nellie White and Braedon & Daisy Snyder. A 1976 graduate of Connellsville Area School District, Jeff went on to pursue science studies at Penn State University. Two years ago, Jeff retired from Bruner Insurance Agency in Connellsville after 17 years service as an insurance agent, he was previously employed for 24 years at Fox Glass Company of Uniontown as a project manager. Jeff was an athlete and an avid outdoorsman. In his younger years, he played second base on various softball teams and leagues- Fairview Club, Mt. Zion Angels and for the Indian Head Church of God. In his later years, he loved to play golf on many local courses. Throughout his life, bowling was an interest as he played on several teams including the Merchant 10 pin league, Mountain bowling league, and a Connellsville traveling league. His real passion though was hunting, whether for whitetail deer on the farm he grew up on or for mule deer in Montana where he took several trips to the Turlen Ranch with his son and friends. For the last 19 years, Jeff took a yearly trip to Port Clinton, Ohio, for walleye, as he enjoyed fishing the waters of Lake Erie. He loved Pittsburgh sports teams: Steelers, Penguins, and the Pirates, but his favorite was Penn State's Football Team. His life was transformed by Christ and encouraged by his loving church family from the Indian Head Church of God. His life is a testimony of faith, strength, endurance, and great love. Jeff served in a variety of capacities: Sunday School Teacher, Sunday School Superintendent, Administrative Church Council, Pastor Search Committee, Elder, Deacon, van driver; he sang with the church choir, and was the Youth Choir Director. Jeff's greatest joy was his family. He is survived by his cherished wife of 43 years Elaine Coffman White; his beloved children Elizabeth Holtz (Jesse Wilson) of Bridgeport, WV and Adam (Christina) White of Acme, PA; and the lights of his life- the grandchildren: Jackson Holtz, Gideon Holtz, Josie Wilson, Bryson White, Hunter White, and Paisley. His sister, Laura Cramer and brother David (Amy) White, and sister's-in-law, Vicki White, Mandy Reed, brother-in-law, Tim Coffman, father-in-law Beryl Coffman, and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Gone before him are his parents and grandparents, his brothers Greg and Keith (Tad) White, brother-in-law Jerry Cramer, and mother-in-law Beverley Coffman. Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day- and not only to me, but also to all who have longed for His appearing. Family and friends will be received Sunday from 2-8 PM in the Mark C. Brooks Funeral Home Inc., at the corner of Route 711 and 146 Municipal Building Rd., Melcroft (724-455-2310). Additional viewing will be held Monday from 10-11 AM, the hour of a Funeral Service in the Indian Head Church of God, 691 Indian Creek Valley Rd., Indian Head, PA. 15446, with Pastor Douglas Nolt officiating.
