Robert F. Sparks

Robert F. Sparks, 92, of Indian Head, passed away peacefully Tuesday February 17, 2026 at his home, while surrounded and comforted by his loving family. He was born January 17, 1934 in Davistown, Saltlick Township, Fayette County, the son of the late Frank and Helen Cole Sparks. Bob was a graduate of Connellsville High School with the class of 1951. Prior to his retirement he was a self-employed Contactor having worked for many people in the area for many years. He also was the Saltlick Township Tax Collector for 8 years. Bob was a Veteran of the U.S. Army, a longtime member of the Indian Creek Valley Lions Club, a member of the Fayette County Municipal Authority for many years, and a member of the Saltlick Township Volunteer Fire Department. Bob was also a longtime and devoted member of St. Raymond of the Mountains R. C. Church in Donegal. Bob will be sadly missed but fondly remembered by his loving family, his wife of 69 years Patricia L. Grimm Sparks, his children Christopher Sparks and wife Linda of Connellsville, Michael Sparks and wife Cindy of Ijamsville, MD., Catherine Lowden and husband Richard of Clinton, TN., Karen Nedley and husband Robert of White, Becky LaPointe and husband Paul of Bluemont, VA., Toni Polyblank and husband Mark of Latrobe, and Sally White and husband Darren of Indian Head, his grandchildren Keith White, Ricky Lowden, Jill White, Nicholas Lowden, Marie Nesser, Alina Dowdy, Alan Nedley, Christopher Sparks, Matthew White, Shawn Sparks, Jessica McKlveen, Andrew Polyblank, Zachary Sparks, Steven White, and Luke White, his great grandchildren Wyatt, Lucas, Miles, Walker, Camden, Olivia, Eleanor Jane, his brother John "Judd" Sparks of Indian Head, his sister-in-law Ruth Ann Bruner of Lancaster, his special cousin Renee Connell of Leisenring, and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents Bob was predeceased by his brothers Thomas, William, and Richard Sparks. The family would like to extend a special thanks to the Independence Home Care Hospice, especially nurses Jill, Amanda, and Angie for all of their wonderful care given to Bob during his illness. Family and friends are invited to attend a Funeral Mass to be held Saturday, February 21, 2026 at 10:00 AM in St. Raymond of the Mountains R.C. Church, 164 School House Lane, Donegal, PA. 15628, with Rev. Matthew Udoh as celebrant. (Everyone please go directly to the church.) Private interment will be in St. Raymond's Cemetery, Champion.
