Virginia M White

Virginia M. White, 106, a lifetime resident of Indian Head, passed away peacefully Tuesday January 9, 2024 at Easy Living Country Estates, Hunker. She was born November 5, 1917 in Indian Head, a daughter of the late Clyde B. and Maude Miller Brooks. Virginia was a graduate of Connellsville High School (class of 1935) and later graduated from Duff's Iron City College in Pittsburgh in 1937. She married Harold M. White on July 6, 1940. They spent many happy years together, taking many trips to Florida and spending time with friends. As a faithful follower of Jesus, she was an active member of the Indian Head Church of God for many years. Since the early 1950s, Virginia did the bookkeeping and the servicing for her husband’s insurance business. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and eating at local restaurants, as well as celebrating with her family on many special occasions. Virginia will be sadly missed but fondly remembered by her loving family - her son, H. Brooks White (Nancy) of Mt. Pleasant; her grandchildren, Penny Zeisloft (Brian) of Mt. Pleasant and Brooks J. White (Elizabeth) of Pittsburgh; her great grandchildren, Dietrich and Ella Zeisloft and Josie and Bryce White; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. In addition to her parents, Virginia was predeceased by her loving husband Harold M. White on November 18, 1991, her son John C. White, her sisters Iva Margaret Miller (Merle), Doris Miller (Merdith), E. Jeanne King (Lester), and her brother Samuel C. Brooks (Norma). The family would like to thank Darlene and staff at Easy Living Country Estates for all of the wonderful care given to Virginia during her stay there. Family and friends will be received Friday, 2-4 and 6-8 PM, in the Mark C. Brooks Funeral Home Inc., at the corner of Route 711 and 146 Municipal Building Rd., Melcroft (724-455-2310) where a Funeral Service will be held Saturday at 11:00 AM, with Pastor Douglas Nolt officiating. A Committal Service and Interment will follow in the Mt. Nebo Cemetery, Champion.
